SL vs NED – ICC T20 World Cup – Team Preview
Sri Lanka
After a disappointing start to the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Sri Lanka made a strong comeback in their last game against UAE. It was a complete team effort overall. The batters gave the momentum and the bowlers continued to pick wickets and didn’t allow the UAE squad to have a strong partnership on the ground.
Pathun Nissanka turned out to be the highest scorer. He scored 74 runs in 60 balls at a strike rate of 123.33. In partnership with Kusal Mendis and Dhananjay de Silva, the batters were able to reach a score of 152 at a loss of 8 wickets. The Sri Lankan middle order will have to revisit their mistakes before they come to play against the Netherlands.
Sri Lankan bowlers were a pack of wolves who turned out to be ferocious against the opposition. They didn’t allow the UAE batters to make a strong base on the pitch and broke every partnership at the right time.
Netherlands
The Netherlands is coming after scoring two wins against Namibia and UAE respectively. The team management will be happy to see the number of efforts made by the players to start their ICC T20 World Cup campaign on a positive note.
Max O’Dowd and Vikramjit Singh looked good in the last game, and the team would need a strong start from them here. Bas de Leede shall look to steer the innings in the middle overs and add quick runs with Tom Cooper and Colin Ackermann.
Fred Klaassen and Tim Pringle are the two brilliant minds paired with a new ball. They both will be determined to give the Netherlands a good start in the bowling section. Bas de Leede has been in good form, and he will have to tight spells in the middle overs with Roelof van der Merwe and Paul van Meekeren. Timm van der Gugten adds to the side’s variety.
