SA vs ZIM – ICC T20 World Cup – Team Preview
South Africa
South Africa has recently shown some improvements when it comes to the T20 format of cricket. They are one of the heavyweights in the tournament and the top 3 teams to win the T20 World Cup trophy. However, the Proteas won’t take the Zimbabwe squad lightly as the latter has dominated some games in the past.
The primary concern for the South African squad is the disappointing form of their opening batsmen Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock. Both batters have struggled this year and have been inconsistent in some crucial games. The middle order consists of Rilee Rossow and Aiden Markram. Rossouw is undoubtedly SA’s most in-form player this year. The left-hander has 231 runs in 6 games at an average of 57.75 and a strike rate of 180.46.
Another concern for the Proteas squad will be their bowling department. Their primary pacers, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje have not bowled the quality stuff on the ground, The spin department is also struggling to pick wickets and control the run rate of the opposition.
Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe’s 2022 season is turning out to be a fairytale. They have shown impeccable performances in the past and have shocked everyone after their win against Bangladesh in the qualifying games. After a long wait, Zimbabwe has finally made it with the big guns and they are now full of confidence to face any squad in the tournament.
All credit to Sikandar Raza and skipper Craig Irvine who brought out the best in the team. In the first inning, Ervine will either start Madhevere or Chakabva. He scored 58 in the final game against Scotland to win the game. Though his strike rate of 107.19 is way below the standards, he gives strength to the top order by keeping his wicket.
All eyes will be on Sikander Raza again. Raza has been the player of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup qualifier, player of the series against Bangladesh, player of the matches against Ireland and Scotland, and the leading run-scorer of all these tournaments is our choice for the top batter. Blessing Muzarbani will lead the pace attack with Richard Ngrava and Tendai Chatara.

SA vs ZIM – ICC T20 World Cup – Toss Prediction and Pitch Report
Bellerive Oval always works in the favour of the team who is chasing. In the 9 T20Is, the results have favoured both teams defending and chasing the target. The team batting first has won the game 5 times. The toss-winning team should opt to bat first.
SA vs ZIM – ICC T20 World Cup – Match Prediction
South Africa was unlucky in the last year’s campaign of the T20 world cup as they lost their semi-final spot because of their NRR. This year, South Africa has done wonders in T20 cricket and they are a strong team as compared to Zimbabwe. We expect South Africa to win the 18th fixture.
