JSK vs PR – SA T20 – Team Previews
Joburg Super Kings
The Johannesburg Super Kings received a huge blow prior to the game as they announced that their ace pacer Alzarri Joseph will not feature for the rest of the tournament. The Caribbean fast bowler will join his national team for the West Indies’ 2-match test series against Zimbabwe.
Although Joseph has been off the boil in the tournament, picking up 4 wickets at an economy rate of 8.40, the Super Kings will miss his express pace on the South African wickets. Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade has been named as his replacement.
Gerald Coetzee, the Joburg Kings’ leading wicket-taker with 11 scalps, will have to shoulder the fast-bowling burden. The young South African quick has lit up the competition and is coming on the back of 3-fer in his last game. Aaron Phangiso, who was having a great season, was suspended from the tournament for an illegal bowling action in what was another blow to Faf du Plessis’ team.
Skipper Du Plessis scored a brilliant hundred (113), the first in the history of the SA T20, in the Super Kings’ last game against the Durban Super Giants. The Kings registered an 8-wicket win, with Coetzee and Theekshana picking up 6 wickets.
Paarl Royals
It has been a mixed tournament so far the Paarl Royals, who came into the tournament with star names like Jos Buttler, David Miller and Jason Roy. They have won four and lost four, but owing to the fiercely competitive nature of the tournament, they sit in 3rd place with 17 points.
A victory here would take them above the Sunrisers Eastern Cape to 2nd place and possibly seal their place in the playoffs. In their last game, they beat the Sunrisers by 5 wickets.
A collective effort from the bowlers restricted the Sunrisers to just 130 on a tacky surface. Buttler continued his fine form and registered his 3rd fifty of the series to give them a good start, while David Miller finished things off with a 23-ball 37. It will be interesting to see how long a rope Jason Roy gets amidst his poor form. He has scored just 100 runs in 8 games at an average of 12.5.

JSK vs PR – SA T20 – Toss Prediction and Pitch report
Chasing teams have won 17 of the 40 matches played at this venue. Still, expect the captain who wins the toss to choose to field first considering the ongoing trend in the tournament. The Wanderers has always been a happy hunting ground for fast bowlers and there have been two games at this venue so far. The surface has been in favour of the batsmen, with an average first-innings score of 173.
JSK vs PR – SA T20 – Match Prediction
The last time these two teams played, the Royals blew away the Super Kings, dismissing them for just 81. Apart from Du Plessis, the super Kings’ batting order hasn’t fired yet and their bowling stocks have also been depleted. They might not threaten the strong Royals batting line-up, so we predict a win for David Miller’s team.
