Multan Sultans

The Multan Sultans were one of the most consistent teams in the league stage last season before losing to the Lahore Qalandars in the final. They have managed to retain the core that was instrumental in their run to the final last year.

The Multan Sultans will once again be led by Mohammad Rizwan in the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League. The top-order batter is coming off a strong performance in the Bangladesh Premier League, where he scored a multitude of runs and started off the PSL with a fine half-century.

The Sultans have a strong batting lineup, boasting players like Shan Masood, David Miller, Kieron Pollard, and Usman Khan. However, the team has suffered a setback as three key players, Rilee Rossouw, Tim David, and Joshua Little will miss the first few games due to other commitments.

In their last game, they lost a close encounter against reigning champions Lahore Qalandars. Set a target of 176, Rizwan led the way with 75 but they fell short by one run.

Quetta Gladiators

The Gladiators have had a disappointing run in the tournament, not making it into the playoffs for the last three seasons. Last year, they just missed the playoffs, losing out to Islamabad United by net run rate.

Their luck hasn’t been great either; Mohammad Hasnain was banned for his bowling action, Mohammad Nawaz was injured, and several overseas players were only partially available. They will be led by former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Iftikhar Ahmed is playing at the top of his game, having amassed 351 runs in 11 games of the BPL with an awe-inspiring strike rate of 157.39. The team boasts a powerful lineup of foreign players and has backup plans in place for those who may only be partially available. The bowling department rests on the shoulders of two promising young fast bowlers, Naseem Shah and Mohammad Hasnain.
