Lahore Qalandars

The ongoing tournament will witness a clash between two major teams who are both close to securing their spot in the playoffs. Lahore Qalandars are currently at the top of the points table after winning four consecutive matches since their loss to Karachi Kings earlier in the season.

The team’s skipper, Shaheen Afridi, has been outstanding with the ball and his captaincy has been impressive as well. In their previous match against Quetta Gladiators, Qalandars found themselves struggling at 50 for 7, but Sikandar Raza’s unbeaten 71 from 34 balls helped them reach a total of 148 which they defended successfully, winning by 17 runs.

Afridi and his team will look to continue their form against Multan Sultans, who also have match-winners in their squad. Raza will be a crucial wicket for the Sultans given his ability to turn the game in just a few deliveries. Lahore Qalandars are likely to stick with their winning combination for the upcoming match.

Multan Sultans

Multan Sultans have won four out of their six matches in the ongoing PSL season but suffered a big loss to Karachi Kings in their previous game. In their earlier encounter this season, Lahore Qalandars narrowly beat Multan by one run, so another closely contested match could be expected. Multan will be eager to avenge their earlier defeat against Lahore Qalandars.

Mohammad Rizwan, Multan’s opening batsman, has been in terrific form this season, scoring 358 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 141.50, and is currently the leading run-scorer of the tournament. Lahore Qalandars would need to dismiss him early to stay competitive in the match.

Ihsanullah, a 20-year-old player, has been impressive with the ball this season, taking 14 wickets in six matches with his accurate line and length. No changes are expected for the Multan Sultans as well as they have made two already in their previous game.
