MI vs CSK – IPL – Team Previews
Mumbai Indians
The Mumbai Indians are hoping to bounce back as their fans return to the stadium for the first time since 2019. After a comprehensive loss against RCB in their first match of the season, they may make some changes to their playing XI, as Rohit Sharma’s failure at the top is a big concern.
The team’s top three – Rohit, Suryakumar and Ishan Kishan – are crucial to their campaign but are struggling for runs. Suryakumar Yadav, the No. 1 T20I batter in the world, has scored only 23 runs in his last five competitive innings across all formats. Ishan, the franchise’s highest scorer last season, has scored only 60 runs in his last nine games. He didn’t start the season well either, scoring only 10 runs against RCB in the first game.
Rohit himself has not scored many international runs recently, so the team would like him to turn his form around quickly. If not, they could find themselves slipping into another season of poor starts.
Chennai Super Kings
Chennai Super Kings, led by MS Dhoni, have had a mixed start to their IPL campaign with one win and one loss so far. They suffered a defeat to Gujarat Giants in their first game of the season but managed to get their first points on the board in their return to Chepauk. In the second game, Tushar Deshpande proved to be an impact substitute, providing crucial breakthroughs at the death after Moeen Ali’s early strikes.
In the opening game against Gujarat Titans, the Super Kings started strong but couldn’t maintain their dominance and ended up losing. To bolster their seam attack, the team has brought in Sisanda Magala, a South African and Sunrisers Eastern Cape death-bowling specialist.
The Super Kings have a deep batting lineup, with Deepak Chahar even listed at No. 11. The Wankhede pitch should suit their batting style.

MI vs CSK – IPL – Pitch Report and Toss Prediction
The Wankhede Stadium pitch is known for favouring the batsmen, with an average score of 180 in IPL matches and a whopping 194 in international T20s played on this ground. This is due to the true nature of the pitch, coupled with short boundaries and a quick outfield, which provides ample opportunities for the batsmen to score runs.
MI vs CSK – IPL – Win Prediction
Mumbai Indians have typically started the tournament slowly and will continue their losing streak in this game as well.
