CSK vs RR – IPL – Team Previews
Chennai Super Kings
Although the Super Kings have won two out of their three IPL 2023 matches so far, this will only be their second game at their home ground. The team has been in good form, winning their last two games, and will look to continue their dominance in front of their home crowd.
However, captain MS Dhoni faces a challenge with the form of his pacers, as Deepak Chahar and Tushar Deshpande haven’t been at their best. Sisanda Magala made his IPL debut in the previous game against the Mumbai Indians and picked up one wicket for 37 runs. Meanwhile, spinners Jadeja, Mitch Santner and Moeen Ali have been crucial to the team’s success in the bowling department.
Unfortunately, Deepak Chahar will be unavailable due to a hamstring injury, while Ben Stokes is set to miss out on this game too due to a toe injury.
Rajasthan Royals
The Royals have also won two out of their three matches in IPL 2023 so far and have been dominant in their victories. Opener Jos Buttler has already scored two half-centuries in three innings, while his partner Yashaswi Jaiswal has also been performing well.
Ravi Ashwin and Yuzi Chahal will be crucial for the Royals on this pitch, while Trent Boult’s swing bowling in the power play will be a threat to the Super Kings. However, the form of youngster Riyan Parag is a concern for the Royals as he has not been able to perform up to expectations.
With Joe Root in the squad, the Royals may make some changes to their playing XI, especially as they lack a strong middle-order batsman.

CSK vs RR – IPL – Pitch Report and Toss Prediction
The pitch is expected to be a sporting wicket that favours the bowlers, particularly spinners. Both teams will likely rely on their spinners to take advantage of the pitch and make crucial breakthroughs. A score of 160-180 could be considered competitive given the conditions. It’s possible that either captain may choose to bowl first if they win the toss in order to take advantage of any early assistance the pitch may offer to the bowlers.
CSK vs RR – IPL – Win Prediction
Chennai are very good at home, while the Royals have won four of the last five games between the two sides. But Dhoni’s side might just edge it.
