SYS vs THU – BBL – Team Previews
Sydney Sixers
The Sixers are coming to play their next game after a huge win against Adelaide Strikers. It was a high-scoring fixture where the Sydney Sixers dominated the whole game. They gained the top position in the point table for a day but the team will be motivated to reach the top again.
The Sixers scored a whopping 203/5 as a result of Steve Smith’s century, which was the highlight of the evening. For the Sixers, Patterson and Silk made some useful contributions as well.
Ben Dwarshuis, Sean Abbott, Steve OKeefe, and Todd Murphy doing a great job in the bowling segment. The opposition is finding it hard to play against these bowlers.
Sydney Sixers is one of the most successful teams in BBL history and this year as well they have become one of the contenders for the trophy.
Sydney Thunder
In their most recent game, Thunder delivered a thorough chase against Renegades to break their winless streak. They now have 12 points, joining the Gades. Their opponents will reflect on that missed opportunity from Matthew Gilkes because it could have resulted in the third wicket of the over and turned the tide of the game.
The left-hander took advantage of the bowling, adding 87 runs to an unbroken third-wicket partnership with Ross to secure victory and move them up to the fourth place. The bowlers, who were very disciplined, actually set up the victory, and only Will Sutherland’s last-over charge helped them to a respectable score.
They will use this renewed vigour to stop Sixers in their track and will look to book their playoff spot.
